The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
