Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former number one, has had a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-term coach Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's first title following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since spring of that year.

Success also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an better serve.

The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent saved four early opportunities in a competitive third set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
